Is it too descriptive?

When I first started reading, I was a little shocked at just how descriptive it is. I don't know what I expected from a book about midwives but it still caught me off guard a little.

Would this book be too much for a man? Especially one who hasn't witnessed a birth?

i think it is a little graphic. but maybe it needs to be so the story can make sense.but i think so far so good and i really like it!!!
